CANOPY

Installation

Download link: https://www.enthought.com/products/epd/

Once installed, you have to select this python as your default interpreter.

If you obtain the following error:

dyld: Library not loaded: @rpath/Python
  Referenced from: /home/django/jcohen2/Library/Enthought/Canopy_64bit/User/bin/python
  Reason: image not found
Trace/BPT trap: 5

It means that Canopy is badly configured in your system. To reconfigure it, open canopy and it will add the following line in your .bash_profile:

VIRTUAL_ENV_DISABLE_PROMPT=1 source /home/django/jcohen2/Library/Enthought/Canopy_64bit/User/bin/activate

If you still obtain this error even though your .bash_profile is up-to-date, it means that the python executable is not linked with the @rpath. This can occur if you change station. To solve the problem, open canopy. More info here:

Configuration with Pycharm

Under Pycharm, you have to select the following interpreter:

/Users/your_name/Library/Enthought/Canopy_64bit/User/bin/python

If problem with interpreter selection, you will not be able to import canopy-specific packages, e.g., scipy. Once the interpreter is selected, you might have to quit/start Pycharm.
